Eat right and you’ll look younger. Is it really that simple? Experts have determined that a healthy diet rich in some of the superfoods will contribute to being wrinkle free. Read on to find out seven foods that really do work.

Olive Oil has good fats that create a healthy glow. Those fats contain the heart-healthy omega-3, which is recommended to improve circulation so that skin is rosy and soft. One tablespoon a day is supposed to do the trick.

Blueberries are a food that contain more antioxidants than almost any other. One-half cup every day may help to prevent the cell structure damage that can lead to the loss of skin firmness. Skin is given more protection from damaging free radicals from sun and stress, and will have a smoother appearance.

Salmon, mackerel and other fish that contain omega-3 fatty acids strengthen skin cell membranes, which in turn keep moisture in. Two 6 ounce servings a week will show improvement with psoriasis and eczema, but experts recommend no more than six servings a week to avoid mercury contamination.

Watermelon contains plenty of vitamin C, potassium, and lycopene that regulate the nutrients in cells with balance of water. One to two cups a week is best for a dewy complexion.

Spinach, another of the superfoods, is great for firming skin. Rich in antioxidants, beta-carotene and lutein, the nutrients are thought to improve skin elasticity according to a Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry study. Three cups of spinach or kale, or a combination each week will show results.

Pomegranates are best for softening skin. One cup of pomegranate seeds, not just the juice per week will guard against the wrinkling caused by sun damage. Compounds in the seeds fight free radicals and the damage they cause, and also increase the body’s capacity to preserve collagen. Skin may appear smoother and plumper.

The best food for diminishing brown spots is Green Tea. Studies say that with one cup a day, spots may lighten in as little as one month. It contains catechins, which is one of the highest rated compounds for preventing hyperpigmentation. Polphenols are also present, which may reverse some of the effects of aging.

Maintaining a healthy variety in your diet is the best way to help preserve what you have. Adding the noted foods will no doubt have a positive effect on your well being in addition to your appearance.
